WELCOME TO PACK 3409

The Purposes of Cub Scouting

Since 1930, the Boy Scouts of America has helped younger boys through Cub Scouting. It is a year-round family program designed for boys and now girls* who are in kindergarten through fifth grade. Parents, leaders, and organizations work together to achieve the purposes of Cub Scouting.

The 10 purposes of Cub Scouting are:

⇒ Character Development
⇒ Spiritual Growth
⇒ Good Citizenship
⇒ Sportsmanship and Fitness
⇒ Family Understanding
⇒ Respectful Relationships
⇒ Personal Achievement
⇒ Friendly Service
⇒ Fun and Adventure
⇒ Preparation for Scouts BSA

We meet Thursday nights at 7:00 P.M. most every week at Bennetts Corners Community UMC, (holidays and summer vacation time excluded).

We also have a very busy and active summer program! At least two outings every month during the summer.

*Our pack welcomes both boys and girls, however; Scouting remains gender specific. This means that there are Dens for boys and Dens for girls, and no Dens with both girls and boys.

A Den is comprised of a group of children of the same general age and is school grade specific. As an example, Lions are in kindergaten, Tigers are in the first grade, and Wolves are in the second grade.
